Ludvig & Co is Sweden’s largest advisory firm, boasting over 70,000 clients and approximately 1,300 employees across 130 locations. Founded by Ludvig Nanceson in 1918, the company has provided assistance to its clients for more than 100 years, offering a broad range of services aimed at supporting Swedish entrepreneurs.
Ludvig's IT Strategy and IT department set out to create a unified data platform that integrates all their existing sources into a single source of truth. This initiative is designed to streamline data management, enhance data quality and governance, and elevate the overall user experience. By doing so, it enables faster, more accurate decision-making and drives greater productivity and strategic execution across the organization.
To combat these issues, a comprehensive tech solution was designed, centered around a cloud-based Delta Lake, warehouse, and an intuitive reporting layer using Power BI. This solution was crafted to integrate all major data sources seamlessly, ensuring a robust and reliable data management system. The key was not just in consolidating data but in doing so in a way that made it accessible and actionable for users across the organization.
A unified data pipeline and storage solution should be established, facilitating usage across the organization, including a company's Tech department, managers, and hands-on business users. The cloud-based solution directly addressed the internal challenges of data quality and governance, setting a new standard for data management within Ludvig’s organization. This consolidation ensured that data was not just collected, but also curated and stored efficiently, making it readily available for reporting purposes.
By leveraging Power BI, reports were crafted and distributed across the organization to approximately 1000+ business users. These reports provides insights aiding in better decision-making processes and enhancing overall organizational efficiency.
A significant aspect of the project was empowering Ludvig to take complete ownership of the solution. Through targeted upskilling and enablement initiatives, Ludvig’s team was equipped with the knowledge and skills required to manage and evolve the data management system independently.
The cloud-based solution allowed for a more efficient and holistic improvement of data quality and consistency across the Ludvig Data BI Platfrom.
With readily available and reliable data, decision-making processes were significantly accelerated, impacting various aspects of the organization’s strategy and operations positively.
